Las Brisas Beach
Las Brisas Beach is the main beach of the Resort though many would argue that Poseidon Beach where the water sports are located is. It's beautiful, but being man made and on the North coast it is subject to strong winds and surf. It has it's issues. Where lounges & thatch umbrellas are provided or there are definitive paths, the sand is fairly secure and compact, but anywhere it's in direct contact with water it is unpredictably sinky. Hard to stand in it in wavy water and surf. There was a portion not protected by a breakwall and a little way in the water the sand gave way and I slid to a drop about 2'. It took me on a wobbly fall. IF anyone on shore had been watching it probably wasn't pretty. As I regained my balance I found myself standing on stones. I wasn't impressed. On shore, the sand is full of sharp pieces of broken shells and coral. There isn't much sand bottom where you can walk out a ways, but where there is, you sink into it. Bonus was no sand fleas here (that found me). All in all, if you just want to sunbathe, it's ideal, but not where you want to go if you enjoy spending a lot of time swimming and playing in salt water. All the beaches are kept super clean and the staff are amazing. It's not a hotel deal breaker for us. The beach has direct access to the main pool and it's amenities. You get bar service at your lounges and food and washrooms are within close walking distance. There is always music that carries to most of the beach. The property is private so there are no vendors on the beaches or anywhere else on the property, unless they are invited for the express purpose of entertaining or providing craftwork for resort guests.
