Room With a View

After a wonderous shuttle ride from the lobby to our Bungalow, our driver took the heavy suitcases upstairs and opened the door to PARADISE.  Mike followed him in.  I was still looking around at the stunning scenery outside the door when I heard, "OMG Susie, WOW".  The blackout curtains had been drawn open and light flooded the room.  Looking out the balcony doors all I could see was palm trees flowing in the wind and a straight on look into the multi-coloured Caribbean Sea. 🤩

Our driver was the beginning of many amazing acquaintances we made among the staff.  Before he left us he'd given us invaluable tips and info to help us get accustomed and he got us settled, in every way.

There is a short bit where my camera wanted an alternate perspective.  It will pass lol

We saw the same views daily, but there was always something different that caught our attention and it never got old.  The winds created waves and whitecaps and on calmer water the sun painted colours I could only imagine in a box of Crayolas.

The videos below have my first Jamaican sunrise.  Always a favourite time of day for me on vacation.  Mike missed most of them.  It was so peaceful listening to the waves lap on the rocks below us and watching and familiarizing myself with the local fishermen heading out from Lucea across the bay.  Even when the waves were higher!  They bobbed up and down in their little boats and at times disappeared, leaving me anxious at not seeing them.  I woke up every morning and came out on the balcony and just sighed with pleasure, feeling instantly relaxed. 😌

Our view to the left faced South looking at the Resort's Sunset Cove and a bit of Poseidon Beach where the watersports are. This beach is where the Poseidon Seafood restaurant is as well as the resort's original Jerk Hut.  Beyond this, was Tom Piper's Bay, a lowland mountain view and the highway to everywhere.  Coral Beach, adjacent to Poseidon was just out of view from our balcony, but as we soon learned could easily be accessed from the adult pool a short stroll from our bungalow.  Our view straight out faced West and we looked on the Town of Lucea and the Caribbean Sea.

There were consistently stunning views from the balcony.  We could have just sat there all day, listening to tunes, and walking 2 buildings over to get rum concoctions from the Adult pool bar.  Um, hey!  We did that!  One day after breakfast we walked around taking pics and did our souvenir shopping until lunch.  Afterwards we went back to the suite for the afternoon and it was all that!  We made ourselves call a shuttle to take us to a late dinner just to get out and moving or it would have been room service, which would have suited us both.  I think that was a buffet night and craving comfort and familiarity, it worked out to be another fine ending to another fine day!

Our first 2 days were calm.  The remainder of the week was very windy and the water was rough!
